Adults should take one Caripill tablet (1100mg) three times daily, over a span of 5 days. For children aged between 1 and 5 years, the dosage is 275mg (5ml) three times daily for a duration of 5 days. Children aged between 5 and 18 years should take 550mg (10ml) three times daily, also for a 5 day period.

Use Caripill with caution if you have bleeding disorders or are taking blood thinners like aspirin or warfarin. Be careful when combining it with oral hypoglycemic agents as it may lower blood sugar levels. Regular monitoring of blood glucose levels is crucial to prevent hypoglycemia. Caripill may also affect the dose of amiodarone, so adjustments may be necessary accordingly. In laboratory studies, it has been shown to enhance the effectiveness of various antibiotics including penicillin G, ampicillin, amoxyclav, cephalothin, polymyxin B, rifampicin, amikacin, nalidixic acid, gentamycin, Chloramphenicol and ofloxacin. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, heartburn, and indigestion.
